Surely the wrath of man shall praise Thee; the remainder of wrath shalt Thou restrain.

For the wrath of man shall praise You; With a remnant of wrath You will clothe and arm Yourself.
Surely the wrath of man shall praise You; the remainder of wrath shall You restrain and gird and arm Yourself with it.

Even human wrath will praise you; you will clothe yourself with the wrath that remains.

Even human rage will turn to your praise when you dress yourself with whatever remains of your wrath.

Even the most angry people will praise you when you are furious.
For the fury of man shall praise thee; the remainder of fury wilt thou gird on thyself.
Or will God forget to shew mercy? or will he in his anger shut up his mercies?
Even human anger can bring you honor when you use it to punish your enemies.
Everybody will praise you, even those who are angry against you. You will show them how angry you really are.
Even the wrath of mankind will bring you praise. You wear what remains of your wrath like a belt.
Surely the wrath of man shall praise you; the remnant of wrath you will put on like a belt.

·People praise you for your anger against evil [or Human anger praises you]. ·Those who live through your anger are stopped from doing more evil [Those who survive your wrath are restrained; L You gird the remains of wrath on you].
Surely the rage of man shall turn to thy praise; the remnant of the rage shalt thou restrain.
Even angry mortals will praise you. You will wear the remainder of ⌞their⌟ anger.
Human anger only results in more praise for you; those who survive the wars will keep your festivals.
Even human wrath will praise You; You will clothe Yourself with their remaining wrath.
People praise you for your anger against evil. Those who live through your anger are stopped from doing more evil.
Even human anger praises you; you will wear the survivors of your wrath as an ornament.
Surely the wrath of man shall cause praise to come unto thee; the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

For the anger of humankind will praise you. You will put on the remnant of anger.
Man’s futile wrath will bring you glory. You will use it as an ornament!
Fierce you are, and fearsome! Who can stand up to your rising anger? From heaven you thunder judgment; earth falls to her knees and holds her breath. God stands tall and makes things right, he saves all the wretched on earth. Instead of smoldering rage—God-praise! All that sputtering rage—now a garland for God!

When you arose, O God, for judgment to save the afflicted of the land. Selah

Human defiance only enhances your glory, for you use it as a weapon.

Surely the chamat adam (the wrath of man) shall praise Thee; the she’erit (remnant, survivor) of wrath shalt Thou restrain [from doing evil].
Surely, the rage of man shall turn to Your praise; the remnant of the rage You shall restrain.

For the thought of man shall acknowledge to thee; and the remnants of thought/the leavings of thought shall make a feast day to thee. (For all their anger, people shall still praise thee; and they who be the remnants/who be the survivors shall make a feast day to thee.)
For the fierceness of man praiseth Thee, The remnant of fierceness Thou girdest on.
