How are they suddenly made desolate! they pass away, consumed with terrors.
Deliver not up to beasts the souls that confess to thee: and forget not to the end the souls of thy poor.
Trouble can come suddenly, and they will be ruined. Terrible things can happen to them, and they will be finished.
It will take just a moment to destroy them! Great fear will sweep them away!
How quickly they come to ruin, completely destroyed by terrors!

If I’d have given in and talked like this, I would have betrayed your dear children. Still, when I tried to figure it out, all I got was a splitting headache . . . Until I entered the sanctuary of God. Then I saw the whole picture: The slippery road you’ve put them on, with a final crash in a ditch of delusions. In the blink of an eye, disaster! A blind curve in the dark, and—nightmare! We wake up and rub our eyes. . . . Nothing. There’s nothing to them. And there never was.
How they come to desolation, as in a moment! They have come to an end, utterly consumed with terrors.
They are suddenly destroyed. They are completely swept away by terror!
How suddenly they are devastated; utterly undone by disaster!

It will happen very suddenly. A terrible death will take them away completely.

How suddenly they became a ruin— terminated, consumed by terrors.
And they won’t see it coming. It will happen so fast: first, a flash of terror, and then desolation.
How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.
How be they made into desolation; they failed suddenly, they perished for their wickedness/for their waywardness. (How they shall go into desolation! they shall suddenly fail, and they shall perish for all their wickedness/for all their wayward ways.)
How have they become a desolation as in a moment, They have been ended -- consumed from terrors.
