For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.
For the ear trieth words, As the palate tasteth food.
“For the ear puts words to the test As the palate tastes food.
For the ear tries words as the palate tastes food.
For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.
Doesn’t the ear test words as the palate tastes food?

For the ear tests words, just as the palate tastes food.
Think about my words, as you would taste food.
For the ear trieth words, as the palate tasteth food.
For the ear trieth words, and the mouth discerneth meats by the taste.
Your tongue tastes the food it touches, and your ear tests the words it hears.
You recognize nice food when you eat it. So you should recognize the value of my words.
It is true that the ear tests words as the mouth tastes food.

We can choose the sounds we want to listen to; we can choose the taste we want in food,
Elihu continued: “So, my fine friends—listen to me, and see what you think of this. Isn’t it just common sense— as common as the sense of taste— To put our heads together and figure out what’s going on here?

Our tongues tell us what tastes good and what doesn’t. And our ears tell us what’s true and what isn’t.

Job said, ‘The ear tests the words it hears just as the mouth distinguishes between foods.’

Our ears are capable of testing wisdom of words the way the roofs of our mouths are capable of tasting food.

for the ear proveth words, and the throat deemeth meat by taste (and the tongue judgeth food by taste).
For the ear doth try words, And the palate tasteth to eat.
