and he dwelleth in desolate cities and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps,
And he hath dwelt in desolate cities, In houses which no man inhabited, Which were ready to become heaps;
And he has lived in desolate [God-forsaken] cities, In houses which no one should inhabit, Which were destined to become heaps [of ruins];
And has lived in desolate [God-forsaken] cities and in houses which no man should inhabit, which were destined to become heaps [of ruins];
And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.

He hath dwelt in desolate cities, and in desert houses that are reduced into heaps.
but his town will be ruined; his home will be destroyed; his house will be empty.
He lives in a town that is empty. No one else lives in the houses there. The buildings will soon fall down and they will become heaps of stones.
he will live in ruined cities, in abandoned houses, reduced to rubble.
and has lived in desolate cities, in houses that none should inhabit, which were ready to become heaps of ruins;
and has lived in desolate cities, in houses that none should inhabit, which were ready to become heaps of ruins;
they will live in towns that are ruined, in houses where no one lives, ·which are crumbling into ruins [L destined to become a ruin heap].
Though he dwell in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, but are become heaps,
He lives in ruined cities where no one dwells, in houses that are doomed to be piles of rubble.
They are the ones who captured cities and seized houses whose owners had fled, but war will destroy those cities and houses.
he will dwell in ruined cities, in abandoned houses destined to become piles of rubble.
He will live in towns that are ruined. He will live in houses where no one lives. They are houses that are crumbling into ruins.
He will live in devastated towns, in abandoned houses that are about to become heaps of rubble.
and he dwelt in desolate cities and in houses which no one inhabited, which were in heaps.
And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.

He has dwelt in desolate cities, In houses no one would inhabit, Which are destined to become ruins.

“This wicked man is fat and rich, and has lived in conquered cities after killing off their citizens.
“Even if they’re the picture of health, trim and fit and youthful, They’ll end up living in a ghost town sleeping in a hovel not fit for a dog, a ramshackle shack. They’ll never get ahead, never amount to much of anything. And then death—don’t think they’ll escape that! They’ll end up shriveled weeds, brought down by a puff of God’s breath. There’s a lesson here: Whoever invests in lies, gets lies for interest, Paid in full before the due date. Some investment! They’ll be like fruit frost-killed before it ripens, like buds sheared off before they bloom. The godless are fruitless—a barren crew; a life built on bribes goes up in smoke. They have sex with sin and give birth to evil. Their lives are wombs for breeding deceit.”

They’ll live in towns that have been destroyed. They’ll live in houses where no one else lives. The houses will crumble to pieces.

He has lived in cities that have been laid waste, in houses where no one lives which will be destroyed.
But their cities will be ruined. They will live in abandoned houses that are ready to tumble down.

He lodges in evacuated towns in empty houses unfit for habitation, in buildings condemned to rubble and ruin.
He has lived in desolate cities, in houses which no one inhabited, which were ready to become heaps.
He shall dwell in desolate cities (He shall live in empty cities), and in deserted houses, that be turned into burials.
And he inhabiteth cities cut off, houses not dwelt in, That have been ready to become heaps.
