Because he covereth his face with his fatness and maketh dollops of fat on his flanks,
Because he hath covered his face with his fatness, And gathered fat upon his loins;
For he has covered his face with his fat, Adding layers of fat to his thighs [giving himself up to pleasures],
Because he has covered his face with his fat, adding layers of fat on his loins [giving himself up to animal pleasures],
Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks.
Though his face is covered with fat and his waistline bulges with it,

“He lets his face grow gross and fat, and the rest of him bulges with blubber;
They may be rich and fat,
For he hath covered his face with his fatness, and gathered fat upon [his] flanks.
Fatness hath covered his face, and the fat hangeth down on his sides.
He might be rich and fat,
He eats too much and his whole body is very fat.
Though now his face is covered with its fat, and his hips bulge with lard,
because he has covered his face with his fat and gathered fat upon his waist

“Although the faces of the wicked are thick with fat [C a sign of prosperity, but here the result of ill-gotten gain], and their ·bellies [or loins] are fat with ·flesh [blubber],
Because he hath covered his face with his fatness, and hath collops in his flank.
“His face is bloated with fat, and he is fat around the waist.
They are proud and rebellious; they stubbornly hold up their shields and rush to fight against God.
Though his face is covered with fat and his waistline bulges with it,
“The evil person’s face is covered with fat. His waist is fat with flesh.
Though he covered his face with fat, and is grossly overweight at the waist,
for he covered his face with his fatness and made collops of fat on his flanks;
Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks.

“Because he has covered his face with his fat and has gathered fat upon his loins,
“This wicked man is fat and rich, and has lived in conquered cities after killing off their citizens.
“Even if they’re the picture of health, trim and fit and youthful, They’ll end up living in a ghost town sleeping in a hovel not fit for a dog, a ramshackle shack. They’ll never get ahead, never amount to much of anything. And then death—don’t think they’ll escape that! They’ll end up shriveled weeds, brought down by a puff of God’s breath. There’s a lesson here: Whoever invests in lies, gets lies for interest, Paid in full before the due date. Some investment! They’ll be like fruit frost-killed before it ripens, like buds sheared off before they bloom. The godless are fruitless—a barren crew; a life built on bribes goes up in smoke. They have sex with sin and give birth to evil. Their lives are wombs for breeding deceit.”

“These wicked people are heavy and prosperous; their waists bulge with fat.

Though he covereth his panim with his fatness, and addeth fat on his flanks;
“Because he has covered his face with his fatness, and excess fat is in his loins.

Because He covered his face with his fat and made his hips bulge with blubber,
Strong and healthy, he has nourished himself well and prospered until his face and his thighs are pleasantly fat.
because he has covered his face with his fatness, and gathered fat on his thighs.
Fatness, that is, pride of temporal abundance, covered his face, or understanding, and outward fatness, that is, unshamefastness, hangeth down of his sides (hangeth down on his sides). [Fatness covered his face, and of his sides grease hangeth. (Fatness covered his face, and grease hangeth down on his sides.)]
