Therefore My (A)wrath and My anger were poured out and burned in the (B)cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, so they have become a waste place and a (C)desolation as it is this day. So now, thus says Yahweh, the God of hosts, the God of Israel, “Why are you (D)doing great evil against yourselves, so as to (E)cut off from you man and woman, infant and nursing baby, from among Judah, leaving yourselves without remnant, (F)provoking Me to anger with the works of your hands, (G)burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt, where you are entering to sojourn, so that you might be cut off and become an (H)imprecation and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?

Therefore, my fierce anger was poured out;(A) it raged against the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem and made them the desolate ruins(B) they are today.

“Now this is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Why bring such great disaster(C) on yourselves by cutting off from Judah the men and women,(D) the children and infants, and so leave yourselves without a remnant?(E) Why arouse my anger with what your hands have made,(F) burning incense(G) to other gods in Egypt,(H) where you have come to live?(I) You will destroy yourselves and make yourselves a curse[a] and an object of reproach(J) among all the nations on earth.
