^7 (A)then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them, and ^(B)the house which I have set apart as holy for My name, I will ^[a]cast out of My presence. So ^(C)Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples. ⁸ And this house will become ^[b](D)a heap of ruins; everyone who passes by will feel desolate and hiss and say, ‘^(E)Why has Yahweh done thus to this land and to this house?’

^20 (A)then I will uproot you from My land which I have given ^[a]you, and this house which I have set apart as holy for My name I will cast out of My presence and I will make it ^(B)a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

¹⁸ For thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, “As My ^(A)anger and wrath have been poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so My wrath will be poured out on you when you enter Egypt. And you will become a ^(B)curse, an object of horror, an imprecation, and a reproach; and ^(C)you will see this place no more.”
