Psalm 55:3
because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked; for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.

Because of the voice of the enemy, Because of the pressure of the wicked; For they bring down trouble on me, And in anger they persecute me.
[And I am distracted] at the noise of the enemy, because of the oppression and threats of the wicked; for they would cast trouble upon me, and in wrath they persecute me.

because of the enemy’s words, because of the pressure of the wicked. For they bring down disaster on me and harass me in anger.
over the enemy’s noise, at the wicked person’s racket, because they bring disaster on me and harass me furiously.
Pay attention to me, and answer me! I am panic-stricken as I make my complaint, I shudder
because my enemies attack with loud shouts. They treat me terribly and hold angry grudges.

My enemies have trodden on me all the day long; for they are many that make war against me.
My enemies shout at me and threaten me. In their anger they attack me. They bring troubles crashing down on me.
I am afraid because of what my enemies say. Those wicked people give me much pain. They are so angry that they hate me and they give me nothing but trouble.

Open your ears, God, to my prayer; don’t pretend you don’t hear me knocking. Come close and whisper your answer. I really need you. I shudder at the mean voice, quail before the evil eye, As they pile on the guilt, stockpile angry slander.

I’m troubled by what my enemies say about me. I’m upset because they say they will harm me. They cause me all kinds of suffering. When they are angry, they attack me with their words.

All because of my enemy! Because his voice speaks against me, his wickedness torments me! He casts down misfortune upon me; his anger flares; his grudges grow against me.
