I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,
I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,
I will open my mouth in a parable [to instruct using examples]; I will utter dark and puzzling sayings of old [that contain important truth]—
I will open my mouth in a parable (in instruction by numerous examples); I will utter dark sayings of old [that hide important truth]—
I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
I will declare wise sayings; I will speak mysteries from the past—
I will open my mouth with a proverb. I’ll declare riddles from days long gone—
I will speak to you in parables and explain mysteries from days of old.
I will give instruction and explain the mystery of what happened long ago.
I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter riddles from of old,
They have given the dead bodies of thy servants to be meat for the fowls of the air: the flesh of thy saints for the beasts of the earth.
I will tell you a story. I will tell you about things from the past that are hard to understand.
I will tell you something to make you wise. Then you will understand things that happened long ago.
I will open my mouth to share a lesson. I will speak about puzzling problems from long ago,
I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old,
I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old,

I am going to use wise sayings and explain mysteries from the past,
I will declare wise sayings; I will speak mysteries from the past—
I will speak using stories. I will tell things that have been secret since long ago.
I will tell a parable, speaking riddles from long ago—
I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter enigmas of old,
I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
I will open my mouth in a parable; I will pour forth dark sayings of old,
I will offer a parable with my mouth. I will pour out riddles from long ago,
For I will show you lessons from our history, stories handed down to us from former generations.
Listen, dear friends, to God’s truth, bend your ears to what I tell you. I’m chewing on the morsel of a proverb; I’ll let you in on the sweet old truths, Stories we heard from our fathers, counsel we learned at our mother’s knee. We’re not keeping this to ourselves, we’re passing it along to the next generation— God’s fame and fortune, the marvelous things he has done.
I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter insightful sayings of old,
I will open my mouth to illustrate points. I will explain what has been hidden long ago,
I will open my mouth in a parable, unfold the puzzling events of the past.
I will open my mouth in a parable; I will tell riddles of old,
I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,
I will open my mouth in parables and expound the mysteries of the past.
I will speak using stories; I will tell secret things from long ago.
I will sing a song that imparts wisdom; I will make insightful observations about the past.
I will open my mouth and tell a story. I will speak about things that were hidden. They happened a long time ago.
I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old—

I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,
I will open my mouth in picture-stories. I will tell things which have been kept secret from long ago,
for I will speak to you in a parable. I will teach you hidden lessons from our past—
I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old,
