The stouthearted are despoiled; they have slept their sleep, and none of the men of might have found their hands.

The stouthearted have been stripped of their spoil, They have slept the sleep [of death]; And none of the warriors could use his hands.

You are glorious, majestic, more so than mountains of prey.

My eyes prevented the watches: I was troubled, and I spoke not.
They thought they were strong, but now they lie dead in the fields. Their bodies are stripped of all they owned. They could not defend themselves.
You won against brave soldiers, so that we robbed them of everything. Now they are sleeping, and they will never wake up! They are completely helpless.
The strong-hearted are plundered. They have fallen into their final sleep. Not one of the strong men can lift his hands.

Oh, how bright you shine! Outshining their huge piles of loot! The warriors were plundered and left there impotent. And now there’s nothing to them, nothing to show for their swagger and threats. Your sudden roar, God of Jacob, knocked the wind out of horse and rider.
The strong of heart have been plundered; they have been put to sleep; and none of the mighty men could use their hands.

Terrible and awesome are you, stronger than the ancient mountains.

all unwise men of heart were troubled. They slept their sleep, that is, were dead; and all men found nothing of riches in their hands. (and all who were foolish and ignorant were troubled. But now they have slept their sleep, that is, they be dead; and all their riches be found to be nothing in their hands.)
Spoiled themselves have the mighty of heart, They have slept their sleep, And none of the men of might found their hands.
