But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
But I, as a deaf man, hear not; And I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; I am like a mute man who does not open his mouth.

I am like a deaf person; I do not hear. I am like a speechless person who does not open his mouth.
I am like a deaf person; I do not hear. I am like a speechless person who does not open his mouth.
But I’m like someone who is deaf, who can’t hear; like someone who can’t speak, whose mouth won’t open.
Those seeking my life lay snares for me, those seeking to harm me speak of disaster and think up deceptions all day long.
I am not able to hear or speak a word;
But I, as a deaf [man], hear not; and am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
Hear my prayer, O Lord, and my supplication: give ear to my tears. Be not silent: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner as all my fathers were.
But I am like a deaf man and cannot hear. I am like someone who cannot speak.
But I am like a deaf man who hears nothing. I am like a dumb man who says nothing.
I am deaf. I cannot hear. Like a mute person, I cannot open my mouth.
But I am like a deaf man; I do not hear, like a mute man who does not open his mouth.
But I am like a deaf man; I do not hear, like a mute man who does not open his mouth.
I am like the deaf; I cannot hear. Like the mute, I cannot ·speak [open my mouth].
But I as a deaf man heard not, and am as a dumb man, which openeth not his mouth.
But I am like a person who cannot hear and like a person who cannot speak.
I am like the deaf and cannot hear, like the dumb and cannot speak.
I am like a deaf person; I do not hear. I am like a speechless person who does not open his mouth.
I am like a deaf man; I cannot hear. Like a mute, I cannot speak.
I am like the deaf, who cannot hear, and like the mute, who cannot open his mouth.

But I am deaf to all their threats; I am silent before them as a man who cannot speak. I have nothing to say.
Lord, my longings are sitting in plain sight, my groans an old story to you. My heart’s about to break; I’m a burned-out case. Cataracts blind me to God and good; old friends avoid me like the plague. My cousins never visit, my neighbors stab me in the back. My competitors blacken my name, devoutly they pray for my ruin. But I’m deaf and mute to it all, ears shut, mouth shut. I don’t hear a word they say, don’t speak a word in response. What I do, God, is wait for you, wait for my Lord, my God—you will answer! I wait and pray so they won’t laugh me off, won’t smugly strut off when I stumble.
But I, like a deaf man, did not hear; and like a dumb man, did not open my mouth.
But I am like a person who cannot hear and like a person who cannot speak.
Those who seek my life lay snares for me; they seek my misfortune, they speak of ruin; they plot treachery every day.
But I, like a person who is deaf, do not hear; And I am like a person who cannot speak, who does not open his mouth.
But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; And I am like a mute man who does not open his mouth.
Those who seek my life set traps; those who wish me harm threaten violence and plot treachery all day long.
I am like the deaf; I cannot hear. Like the mute, I cannot speak.
But I am like a deaf man—I hear nothing; I am like a mute who cannot speak.
Like a deaf person, I can’t hear. Like someone who can’t speak, I can’t say a word.
I am like the deaf, who cannot hear, like the mute, who cannot speak;
I am like the deaf, who cannot hear, like the mute, who cannot speak;
But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; And I am like a mute who does not open his mouth.
But like a deaf man, I do not hear. I am like one who cannot speak and does not open his mouth.
But I am deaf to all their threats. I am silent before them as one who cannot speak.

They who seek my life set traps. Those who seek my hurt threaten destruction, uttering lies all day.
Like one who is deaf, my ears do not hear. Like one who is mute, my tongue cannot speak.
But I, as a deaf man, don’t hear. I am as a mute man who doesn’t open his mouth.
But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and as a dumb man not opening his mouth. (But I, like a deaf man, did not listen to them; and like a dumb man, I did not open my mouth.)
