Concerning the works of men, by the word of Thy lips I have been kept from the paths of the destroyer.

I don't do like others. I obey your teachings and am not cruel.

Praising I will call upon the Lord: and I shall be saved from my enemies.
Unlike most people, I have obeyed your commands, so I have never been like those who are cruel and evil.
I have watched people do bad things. But I have obeyed your commands. I have not joined with cruel people to do what they do.
As for the deeds of people: by the words from your lips I have kept myself from the ways of the violent.

As for the ways of mankind, I have, according to the words of your lips, avoided the ways of the violent.

I’m not trying to get my way in the world’s way. I’m trying to get your way, your Word’s way. I’m staying on your trail; I’m putting one foot In front of the other. I’m not giving up.

I have avoided cruelty because of your word. In spite of what others have done,
as others often do. As your lips have instructed me, I have kept from the way of the lawless.
As for the works of mankind, by the word of Your lips I have kept from the ways of the violent.
As for the deeds of men, by the word of Your lips I have kept from the paths of the violent.
Despite what other people do, I have been guided by the word of your lips and refrained from their acts of violence.
I have obeyed your commands, so I have not done what evil people do.
As for the actions of people— just as you have commanded, I have not followed in the footsteps of violent men.
Though evil people tried to pay me to do wrong, I have not done what they wanted. Instead I have done what you commanded.
Though people tried to bribe me, I have kept myself from the ways of the violent through what your lips have commanded.
