Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth before it groweth up,
Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, Which withereth before it groweth up;
Let them be like the grass on the housetops, Which withers before it grows up,
Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withers before it grows up,
Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
Let them be like grass on the rooftops, which withers before it grows up
Let them be like grass on the rooftops, which withers before it grows up
Let them be like grass on a roof that dies before it can be pulled up,
Let them be like grass on the roof, which dries out before it grows up
May they be like grass on the flat roof of a house, grass that dries up as soon as it sprouts.
Let them be as the grass upon the house-tops, which withereth before it is plucked up,
From the morning watch even until night, let Israel hope in the Lord.
They will be like grass on a flat roof that dies before it has time to grow.
May they be useless, like grass that grows on a roof. It dies before it can grow tall!
Let them be like grass on the roof, which withers even before it is pulled up.
Let them be like the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up,
Let them be like the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up,
Let them be like the grass on the roof that dries up before it has grown.
They shall be as the grass on the house tops, which withereth afore it cometh forth.
Make them be like grass on a roof, like grass that dries up before it produces a stalk.
May they all be like grass growing on the housetops, which dries up before it can grow;
Let them be like grass on the rooftops, which withers before it grows up
Let them be like the grass on the roof. It dries up before it has grown.
May they become like a tuft of grass on a roof top, that withers before it takes root—
They shall be as the grass upon the housetops, which withers before it grows up,
Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
Let them be like grass upon the rooftops, Which dries up before it grows up;
Let them be like grass on the housetops, that withers before it grows up,
May they be as grass in shallow soil, turning sere and yellow when half grown, ignored by the reaper, despised by the binder.
Oh, let all those who hate Zion grovel in humiliation; Let them be like grass in shallow ground that withers before the harvest, Before the farmhands can gather it in, the harvesters get in the crop, Before the neighbors have a chance to call out, “Congratulations on your wonderful crop! We bless you in God’s name!”
Let them be as the grass on the housetops, which withers before it even grows,
Make them be like grass on a roof, like grass that dries up before it produces a stalk.
May they be like grass on the rooftops withered in early growth,
May they be like grass upon the housetops, Which withers before it grows up;
Let them be like grass upon the housetops, Which withers before it grows up;
May they be like grass on the rooftops that withers before it can be plucked,
Let them be like the grass on the roof that dries up before it has grown.
May they be like the grass on the rooftops, which withers before one can even pull it up,
May they be like grass that grows on the roof of a house. It dries up before it can grow.

May they be as useless as grass on a rooftop, turning yellow when only half grown,
Let them be like the grass on the housetops that withers before it grows up,

Let them be as the khatzir (grass) upon the housetops, which withereth before it groweth up;
“They shall be as the grass on the housetops which withers before it comes forth.
Let them be like the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up,
Let them be like the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up,
Let them be like grass on the roofs, which withers before it springs up—
Let them grow like grass upon rooftops that withers and dies in the sun long before it has time to grow,
Let them be as the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up,
Be they made as the hay of housetops; that dried up, before that it be drawn up. (Be they made like the grass on the rooftops; it dried up, before that it could be pulled up.)
They are as grass of the roofs, That before it was drawn out withereth,
