Incline my heart unto Thy testimonies, and not to covetousness;

Incline my heart to Your testimonies And not to dishonest gain and envy.
Incline my heart to Your testimonies and not to covetousness (robbery, sensuality, unworthy riches).

Turn my heart to your decrees and not to dishonest profit.

Turn my heart to your laws, not to greedy gain.
Bend my heart toward your instructions and not toward selfish gain.
Make me want to obey you, rather than to be rich.
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to gain.
Give me the desire to follow your rules, not the desire to get rich.
Help me to love your rules. That is better for me than riches.
Direct my heart toward your testimonies and not toward material gain.
Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!

Help me to prefer obedience to making money!
God, teach me lessons for living so I can stay the course. Give me insight so I can do what you tell me— my whole life one long, obedient response. Guide me down the road of your commandments; I love traveling this freeway! Give me an appetite for your words of wisdom, and not for piling up loot. Divert my eyes from toys and trinkets, invigorate me on the pilgrim way. Affirm your promises to me— promises made to all who fear you. Deflect the harsh words of my critics— but what you say is always so good. See how hungry I am for your counsel; preserve my life through your righteous ways! * * *
