He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages; in secret places doth he murder the innocent; his eyes are privily set against the poor.

He lurks in ambush in the villages; In hiding places he kills the innocent; He lies in wait for the unfortunate [the unhappy, the poor, the helpless].
He sits in ambush in the villages; in hiding places he slays the innocent; he watches stealthily for the poor (the helpless and unfortunate).
He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.
He waits in ambush near settlements; he kills the innocent in secret places. His eyes are on the lookout for the helpless;
They wait in a place perfect for ambush; from their hiding places they kill innocent people; their eyes spot those who are helpless.
He waits near settlements in ambush and kills an innocent man in secret; his eyes are on the hunt for the helpless.
They hide outside villages, waiting to strike and murder some innocent victim.
He sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; in the secret places doth he slay the innocent: his eyes watch for the wretched.
For the Lord is just, and hath loved justice: his countenance hath beheld righteousness.
They hide just outside the villages, waiting to kill innocent people, always looking for any helpless person they can hurt.
He hides near the villages, so that he can jump out and catch people. He watches in secret to find a weak person that he can kill. He murders people who have done nothing wrong.
He waits in ambush by the villages. In hidden places he murders the innocent. His eyes are spying on the helpless.

They wait in ambush in the villages, they kill the innocent in secret.

They carry a mouthful of spells, their tongues spit venom like adders. They hide behind ordinary people, then pounce on their victims.

He waits in ambush in the villages. From his hiding places he kills innocent people. His eyes are on the lookout for victims.
They wait in ambush near towns; their eyes watch for the helpless to murder the innocent in secret.

They hide near the villages. They look for innocent people to kill; they watch in secret for the helpless.

Sinful people hide and wait near the villages. From their hiding places they murder people who aren’t guilty. They watch in secret for those they want to attack.
He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent. His eyes watch in secret for his victims;
