For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; And reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Your parents give you commands and teachings that are like lights to show you the right way. This teaching corrects you and trains you to follow the path to life.
Their commands and their teaching are like a lamp that gives you light. When they warn you that you are doing wrong things, that helps you to live well.
because a command is a lamp, teaching is a light, and the warnings given by discipline are a road to life.
For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life,

For like a lamp is a commandment, and instruction is light, and the way of life is the reproof of discipline,
For their advice is a beam of light directed into the dark corners of your mind to warn you of danger and to give you a good life.
Good friend, follow your father’s good advice; don’t wander off from your mother’s teachings. Wrap yourself in them from head to foot; wear them like a scarf around your neck. Wherever you walk, they’ll guide you; whenever you rest, they’ll guard you; when you wake up, they’ll tell you what’s next. For sound advice is a beacon, good teaching is a light, moral discipline is a life path.
