People from Makir’s family group went to Gilead. (Makir was Manasseh’s son.) They defeated the city. They defeated the Amorites who lived there.
The descendants of Makir, the son of Manasseh, attacked Gilead. They sent away the people who lived there.
The descendants of Makir, the son of Manasseh, went to Gilead, captured it, and drove out the Amorites who were there.

As far as the Manasseh family goes, Machir’s clan overran the Amorites in Gilead,

Soothly the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, went into Gilead, and destroyed it, and they killed (the) Amorite, the dweller thereof (and they killed the Amorites, who lived there).
And sons of Machir son of Manasseh go to Gilead, and capture it, and dispossess the Amorite, who [is] in it;
