For they all made us afraid, saying, “Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done.” Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.
For they all would have made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. But now, O God, strengthen thou my hands.
For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, “They will become discouraged with the work and it will not be done.” But now, [O God,] strengthen my hands.
For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, Their hands will be so weak that the work will not be done. But now strengthen my hands!
For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.
For they were all trying to intimidate us, saying, “They will drop their hands from the work, and it will never be finished.” But now, my God, strengthen my hands.
For they were all trying to intimidate us, saying, ‘They will drop their hands from the work, and it will never be finished.’ But now, my God, strengthen my hands.
All of them were trying to make us afraid, saying, “They will be discouraged, and the work won’t get finished.” But now, God, strengthen me!
They were all just trying to scare us, thinking, “This will sap their strength and keep them from working.” But now, [God,] increase my strength!
Our enemies were trying to frighten us and to keep us from our work. But I asked God to give me strength.
For they all would have made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be slackened from the work, that it be not carried out.—Now therefore strengthen my hands!
For all these men thought to frighten us, thinking that our hands would cease from the work, and that we would leave off. Wherefore I strengthened my hands the more:
Our enemies were only trying to make us afraid. They are thinking to themselves, “The Jews will be afraid and too weak to keep on working. Then the wall will not be finished.” But I prayed, “God, make me strong.”
All our enemies wanted to frighten us. They thought, ‘The Jews will be so afraid that they will not be able to work well. They will not finish building the wall.’ So I prayed to God, ‘Give me strength to continue the work.’
So all of them were trying to intimidate us, thinking, “Their hands will grow weary of the work, and it will not be finished.” So now, strengthen my hands!
For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will drop from the work, and it will not be done.” But now, O God, strengthen my hands.

Our enemies were trying to ·scare [intimidate; terrorize] us, thinking, “They will get too ·weak [discouraged; L their hands will grow slack] to work. Then the wall will not be finished.” ·But I prayed [So now], “God, ·make me strong [L strengthen my hands].”
For all they afraid us, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, and it shall not be done: now therefore encourage thou me.
They were all trying to intimidate us. They thought we would give up and not finish the work. But God made me strong.
They were trying to frighten us into stopping work. I prayed, “But now, God, make me strong!”
For they were all trying to intimidate us, saying, “They will become discouraged in the work, and it will never be finished.” But now, my God, strengthen me.
Our enemies were trying to scare us. They were thinking, “They will get too weak to work. Then the wall will not be finished.” But I prayed, “God, make me strong.”
For they all were trying to make us afraid by saying, “Their hands will become tired from laboring, so the work won’t be completed.” “Therefore, Lord, strengthen my hands!”

You’re just trying to scare us into stopping our work.” (O Lord God, please strengthen me!)
They were trying to intimidate us into quitting. They thought, “They’ll give up; they’ll never finish it.” I prayed, “Give me strength.” * * *
Because they all wanted to frighten us, they thought, “They will pull their hands back from the work.” But that would never be done. So now, O God, strengthen my hands.
They were all trying to intimidate us. They thought we would give up and not finish the work. But God made me strong.
They were all trying to intimidate us, thinking, “They will be discouraged from continuing with the work, and it will never be completed.” But instead, I then redoubled my efforts.
For all of them were trying to frighten us, thinking, “They will become discouraged with the work and it will not be done.” But now, God, strengthen my hands.

They all were trying to frighten us, hoping that we would become lax in our work and the job would not be completed. But instead I became more determined than ever.
Our enemies were trying to scare us, thinking, “They will get too weak to work. Then the wall will not be finished.” But I prayed, “God, make me strong.”
All of them were wanting to scare us, supposing, “Their hands will grow slack from the work, and it won’t get done.” So now, strengthen my hands!
All of them were trying to frighten us. They thought, “Their hands will get too weak to do the work. So it won’t be completed.” But I prayed to God. I said, “Make my hands stronger.”
They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.” But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.”
They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, ‘Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.’ But I prayed, ‘Now strengthen my hands.’

They were just trying to intimidate us, imagining that they could discourage us and stop the work. So I continued the work with even greater determination.

We knew our enemies’ intent was to intimidate us into stopping our work. They reasoned, “These Jews will stop rebuilding out of fear and discouragement. Progress will grind to a halt.” Instead I renewed my dedication, strengthened my hands.
For they all would have made us afraid, saying, “Their hands will be weakened from the work, that it not be done.” But now, strengthen my hands.
All these men made us afeared, and thought that our hands should cease from our works, and that we should rest from building; for which cause I strengthened more mine hand thereto (and for this reason I applied myself even more strongly to the task at hand).
for all of them are making us afraid, saying, `Their hands are too feeble for the work, and it is not done;' and now, strengthen Thou my hands.
