Now the passover and the [feast of] unleavened bread was after two days. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might seize him by subtlety and kill him.
Now the Passover [Feast] and the Feast of Unleavened-Bread was after two days. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how, having seized Him by deceit, they might kill Him.

Consequently, the chief priests and the scribes were trying to think of some trick by which they could get Jesus into their power and have him executed. “But it must not be during the festival,” they said, “or there will be a riot.”
¶ Two days after was the passover and the days of unleavened bread; and the princes of the priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, that they might kill him.

The high priests and religion scholars were looking for a way they could seize Jesus by stealth and kill him. They agreed that it should not be done during Passover Week. “We don’t want the crowds up in arms,” they said.
Now the feasts of the Passover and of Unleavened Bread were two days away. And the chief priests and the scribes looked for a way to seize Him secretly and kill Him.
It was now two days before the Passover and · Festival of Unleavened Bread. And the ruling priests and the scribes were seeking how to seize him by treachery and put him to death,
