And they brought young children to Him, that He should touch them; and His disciples rebuked those who brought them.
And they were bringing unto him little children, that he should touch them: and the disciples rebuked them.
People were bringing children to Him so that He would touch and bless them, but the disciples reprimanded them and discouraged them [from coming].
And they kept bringing young children to Him that He might touch them, and the disciples were reproving them [for it].

People were bringing little children to Jesus. They wanted him to put his hands on each child's head. The disciples told the people that they should not do that.

¶ Then they brought little children to him, that he should touch them, and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

When Jesus saw this, he was indignant and told them, “You must let little children come to me—never stop them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Indeed, I assure you that the man who does not accept the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Then he took the children in his arms and laid his hands on them and blessed them.

Once when some mothers were bringing their children to Jesus to bless them, the disciples shooed them away, telling them not to bother him.
The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: “Don’t push these children away. Don’t ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.” Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them.

When the crowd gathered again, the people brought their children to see Jesus, hoping that He might grant them His blessing through His touch. His disciples turned them all away;

They brought children to Jesus. They wanted him to put his hands on them. The disciples tried to stop the people.
