Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon Thee; Thou saidst, “Fear not.”

You came near whenever I called you; you said, “Do not be afraid.”

Come near to me on the day I call to you. Say to me, “Don’t be afraid.”
You came near when I called to you; you said, “Don’t be afraid.”
and came when I was in need. You told me, “Don't worry!”

Yes, you came at my despairing cry and told me not to fear.
“I called out your name, O God, called from the bottom of the pit. You listened when I called out, ‘Don’t shut your ears! Get me out of here! Save me!’ You came close when I called out. You said, ‘It’s going to be all right.’

Thou nighedest to me in the day, wherein I called thee to help; thou saidest, Dread thou not. (Thou came to me on the day, when I called to thee for help; thou saidest, Fear thou not.)
Thou hast drawn near in the day I call Thee, Thou hast said, Fear not.
