Avimelekh was told that all the men from the Sh’khem fortress had gathered together;
but Abimelech found out where they were.

Abimelech also hearing that the men of the tower of Sichem were gathered together,
Abimelech heard that all the leaders of the Tower of Shechem had gathered together.
Somebody told Abimelech that all the leaders were there together in the temple.
When it was reported to Abimelek that all the citizens were gathered together in the citadel of Shechem,
Abimelech was told that all the leaders of the Tower of Shechem were gathered together.

Abimelech heard that all the ·leaders [leading citizens; lords] of the Tower of Shechem had gathered there.
And it was told Abimelech, that all the men of the tower of Shechem were gathered together.
When Abimelech was told that they had gathered there,

Abimelech heard that all the leaders of the Tower of Shechem had gathered there.
Abimilech was told that all of the “lords” of the Shechem Tower had assembled there.
And it was told Abimelech how all those of the tower of Shechem were gathered together.
And it was told Abimelech, that all the men of the tower of Shechem were gathered together.

And it was told to Abimelech that all the lords of the tower of Shechem were gathered together.

When Abimelech learned of this, he led his forces to Mount Zalmon where he began chopping a bundle of firewood, and placed it upon his shoulder. “Do as I have done,” he told his men.
When the leaders connected with Shechem’s Tower heard this, they went into the fortified God-of-the-Covenant temple. This was reported to Abimelech that the Shechem’s Tower bunch were gathered together. He and his troops climbed Mount Zalmon (Dark Mountain). Abimelech took his ax and chopped a bundle of firewood, picked it up, and put it on his shoulder. He said to his troops, “Do what you’ve seen me do, and quickly.” So each of his men cut his own bundle. They followed Abimelech, piled their bundles against the Tower fortifications, and set the whole structure on fire. Everyone in Shechem’s Tower died, about a thousand men and women.

Someone reported to Abimelech that the citizens had gathered in the temple,

When Abimelech was told that all the lords of Shechem’s Tower had gathered there,
Abimelech learned that all the leaders were in the tower, and
Abimelech was told that all the men of the tower of Shechem were gathered together.

and it is declared to Abimelech that all the masters of the tower of Shechem have gathered themselves together,
