I will disappear in the grave or vanish from sight like a passing cloud.

Just as clouds that come and go, people are put in the grave, never to rise again.
Clouds disappear and you never see them again. That is like people who die and go into their graves. They do not come back again.
As a cloud vanishes and is gone, so does the one who goes down to the grave. He does not come back up again.
As the cloud fades and vanishes, so he who goes down to Sheol does not come up;

And your eyes have seen the last of me; even while you’re looking, there’ll be nothing left to look at. When a cloud evaporates, it’s gone for good; those who go to the grave never come back. They don’t return to visit their families; never again will friends drop in for coffee.
