He directeth it under the whole heaven, and His lightning unto the ends of the earth.
He sendeth it forth under the whole heaven, And his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

He sends his lightning to flash across the whole sky. It lights up the earth from one end to the other.
He sends lightning across the whole sky. Its light reaches everywhere on the earth.
He turns it loose across the whole sky, and his light reaches the ends of the earth.
Under the whole heaven he lets it go, and his lightning to the corners of the earth.

He flashes his lightning everywhere under heaven. His light flashes to the ends of the earth.
He sends the lightning across the sky, from one end of the earth to the other.
He lets it loose beneath the entire sky; His lightning to the ends of the earth.
He turns his lightning loose under the whole sky. And he sends it to the farthest parts of the earth.
He releases his lightning throughout the sky, to the ends of the earth.
He shall place it straight under the whole of the heavens, and his light shall extend unto the ends of the earth.
He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

He lets it loose under all the heavens, and his lightning to the earth’s corners.
It rolls across the heavens and his lightning flashes out in every direction.
“Whenever this happens, my heart stops— I’m stunned, I can’t catch my breath. Listen to it! Listen to his thunder, the rolling, rumbling thunder of his voice. He lets loose his lightnings from horizon to horizon, lighting up the earth from pole to pole. In their wake, the thunder echoes his voice, powerful and majestic. He lets out all the stops, he holds nothing back. No one can mistake that voice— His word thundering so wondrously, his mighty acts staggering our understanding. He orders the snow, ‘Blanket the earth!’ and the rain, ‘Soak the whole countryside!’ No one can escape the weather—it’s there. And no one can escape from God. Wild animals take shelter, crawling into their dens, When blizzards roar out of the north and freezing rain crusts the land. It’s God’s breath that forms the ice, it’s God’s breath that turns lakes and rivers solid. And yes, it’s God who fills clouds with rainwater and hurls lightning from them every which way. He puts them through their paces—first this way, then that— commands them to do what he says all over the world. Whether for discipline or grace or extravagant love, he makes sure they make their mark.
He lets it loose under the whole heaven, and His lightning unto the ends of the earth.
He flashes his lightning everywhere under heaven. His light flashes to the ends of the earth.
Everywhere under the heavens he sends it, with his light, to the ends of the earth.
Under the whole heaven He lets it loose, And His lightning travels to the ends of the earth.
