If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands,
If my step hath turned out of the way, And my heart walked after mine eyes, And if any spot hath cleaved to my hands:
“If my step has turned away from the way [of God], Or if my heart has [covetously] followed my eyes, Or if any spot [of guilt] has stained my hands,
If my step has turned out of [God’s] way, and my heart has gone the way my eyes [covetously] invited, and if any spot has stained my hands with guilt,
If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;
If my step has turned from the way, my heart has followed my eyes, or impurity has stained my hands,
If my step has turned from the way, my heart has followed my eyes, or impurity has stained my hands,
If my step has turned from the way, if my heart has followed my eyes or a blemish has clung to my hands,
“If my steps have wandered from the way, if my heart has followed my eyes, if the least dirt has stuck to my hands;
If I have disobeyed him or even wanted to,
If my step have turned out of the way, and my heart followed mine eyes, and if any blot cleaveth to my hands;
If my step hath turned out of the way, and if my heart hath followed my eyes, and if a spot hath cleaved to my hands:
If I ever stepped off the right path, if my eyes led my heart to do evil, or if my hands are dirty with sin,
God seems to think that I have not lived in the right way. He may think that I have wanted bad things when they looked nice to me. Or perhaps I have done something else that was wrong.
If my footsteps have slipped off the path, if my heart has pursued things desired by my eyes, if anything corrupt has stuck to my palms,
if my step has turned aside from the way and my heart has gone after my eyes, and if any spot has stuck to my hands,
if my step has turned aside from the way and my heart has gone after my eyes, and if any spot has stuck to my hands,
If ·I have turned away from doing what is right [L my feet have wandered off the path; Prov. 2:20], or my heart has ·been led by my eyes to do wrong [L followed my eyes], or ·my hands have been made unclean [L blemish has clung to my hand],
If my step hath turned out of the way, or mine heart hath walked after mine eye, or if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands,
“If my steps have left the ⌞proper⌟ path, or my heart has followed ⌞the desire of⌟ my eyes, or my hands are stained ⌞with sin⌟,
If I have turned from the right path or let myself be attracted to evil, if my hands are stained with sin,
If my step has turned from the way, my heart has followed my eyes, or impurity has stained my hands,
I have not turned away from doing what is right. My heart has not been led by my eyes to do wrong. My hands have not been made unclean.
If I have stepped away from the way, or if my heart covets whatever my eyes see, or if some other blemish clings to my hands,
If my step has turned out of the way and my heart walked after my eyes and if any blot has cleaved to my hands,
If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;
If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;
If my step has turned from the way, Or my heart followed my eyes, Or if any spot has stuck to my hands,
If my steps have turned aside from the way, and my heart has walked after my eyes, and my hand has clung to a spot,
or if I have stepped off God’s pathway, or if my heart has lusted for what my eyes have seen, or if I am guilty of any other sin, then let someone else reap the crops I have sown and let all that I have planted be rooted out.
“Have I walked hand in hand with falsehood, or hung out in the company of deceit? Weigh me on a set of honest scales so God has proof of my integrity. If I’ve strayed off the straight and narrow, wanted things I had no right to, messed around with sin, Go ahead, then— give my portion to someone who deserves it.
If my step has turned out of the path, and my heart has gone after my eyes, and if any spot has clung to my hands,
“If my steps have left the proper path, or my heart has followed the desire of my eyes, or my hands are stained with sin,
If my steps have turned out of the way, and my heart has followed my eyes, or any stain clings to my hands,
If my step has turned from the way, Or my heart followed my eyes, Or if any spot has stuck to my hands,
“If my step has turned from the way, Or my heart followed my eyes, Or if any spot has stuck to my hands,
“If my steps have wandered from the path of righteousness, or if my eyes have led my heart astray, or if any stain has besmirched my hands,
If I have turned away from doing what is right, or my heart has been led by my eyes to do wrong, or my hands have been made unclean,
If my footsteps have strayed from the way, if my heart has gone after my eyes, or if anything has defiled my hands,
Suppose my steps have turned away from the right path. Suppose my heart has wanted what my eyes have seen. Or suppose my hands have become ‘unclean.’

If I have strayed from his pathway, or if my heart has lusted for what my eyes have seen, or if I am guilty of any other sin,
if my step has turned aside from the way, and my heart has followed my eyes, and if any spot has clung to my hands;

If my step hath turned out of the derech, and mine lev walked after mine eyes, and if any mum hath cleaved to mine hands,
“If my step has turned out of the way, or my heart has walked after my eye, or if any blot has clung to my hands,
if my step has turned aside from the way, and my heart has gone after my eyes, and if any spot has cleaved to my hands;
if my step has turned aside from the way, and my heart has gone after my eyes, and if any spot has cleaved to my hands;
If my step has strayed from the way, if my heart has walked after my eyes, or if any defilement has stuck to my hands,
If my steps have veered off God’s prescribed path or if my heart has followed any of the evil my eyes have seen or if my hands are soiled,
if my step has turned out of the way, if my heart walked after my eyes, if any defilement has stuck to my hands,
If my step(s) have bowed from the way; and if mine eye(s) have followed mine heart, consenting to lust, and if a spot have cleaved to mine hands;
If my step doth turn aside from the way, And after mine eyes hath my heart gone, And to my hands cleaved hath blemish,
