though he spare it and forsake it not, but keep it still within his mouth,
Though he spare it, and will not let it go, But keep it still within his mouth;
Though he desires it and will not let it go But holds it in his mouth,
Though he is loath to let it go but keeps it still within his mouth,

though he cherishes it and will not let it go but keeps it in his mouth,
though he cherishes it and will not let it go but keeps it in his mouth,
they like it, won’t let it go; they hold it in their cheeks.
he may linger over it and not let it go but keep it there in his mouth —
and swallow it slowly.
[Though] he spare it, and forsake it not, but keep it within his mouth,
He will spare it, and not leave it, and will hide it in his throat.
He hates to let it go and holds it in his mouth.
He continues to enjoy wicked things, like the taste of sweet food that he keeps in his mouth.
if he hoards it for himself, and he does not let it go, but savors it on his palate,
though he is loath to let it go and holds it in his mouth,
though he is loath to let it go and holds it in his mouth,
They ·cannot stand to [L fight/linger over it and do not] let go of it; they ·keep it in their mouths [L hide it under their tongues].
And favored it, and would not forsake it, but kept it close in his mouth,
Though he savors it and won’t let go of it and he holds it on the roof of his mouth,
Evil tastes so good to them that they keep some in their mouths to enjoy its flavor.

though he savors it and delays swallowing it so he can taste it again and again in his mouth,
if it seemed good unto him, and he did not forsake it, but savored it within his mouth,
Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:

Though he desires it and will not forsake it, And holds it to his palate,
though he spares it and does not let it go and holds it back in the midst of his palate,
sipping it slowly, lest it disappear.
“They savor evil as a delicacy, roll it around on their tongues, Prolong the flavor, a dalliance in decadence— real gourmets of evil! But then they get stomach cramps, a bad case of food poisoning. They gag on all that rich food; God makes them vomit it up. They gorge on evil, make a diet of that poison— a deadly diet—and it kills them. No quiet picnics for them beside gentle streams with fresh-baked bread and cheese, and tall, cool drinks. They spit out their food half-chewed, unable to relax and enjoy anything they’ve worked for. And why? Because they exploited the poor, took what never belonged to them.

Hath pity on it, and doth not forsake it, And keep it back in the midst of his palate,
