“Lay it down now, give me a surety with Thee. Who is he that will strike hands with me?
Give now a pledge, be surety for me with thyself; Who is there that will strike hands with me?
“Give me a pledge (guarantee, promise) with Yourself [acknowledge my innocence before my death]; Who is there that will be my guarantor and give security for me?
Give me a pledge with Yourself [acknowledge my innocence before my death]; who is there that will give security for me?
Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?
Accept my pledge! Put up security for me. Who else will be my sponsor?

Take my guarantee. Who else is willing to make an agreement?
Be my guarantor, yourself! Who else will put up a pledge for me?
If you, Lord, don't help, who will pay the price for my release?
Lay down now [a pledge], be thou surety for me with thyself: who is he that striketh hands with me?
Deliver me O Lord, and set me beside thee, and let any man's hand fight against me.
“God, give me some support. No one else will!
God, please help me to become free again. Nobody else will pay the price to do that for me.
Please pay for me the deposit that you require from me. Indeed, who else could guarantee this payment for me?
“Lay down a pledge for me with you; who is there who will put up security for me?
“Lay down a pledge for me with yourself; who is there who will put up security for me?
“·God, make me a promise [L Make a pledge for me with yourself]. ·No one will make a pledge for me [L Who else will clap hands with me; C a gesture that seals an agreement].
Lay down now, and put me in surety for thee: who is he, that will touch mine hand?
Please guarantee my bail yourself. Who else will guarantee it with a handshake?
I am being honest, God. Accept my word. There is no one else to support what I say.
Make arrangements! Put up security for me. Who else will be my sponsor?
“God, make me a promise. No one else will make a promise for me.
Offer, then, some collateral on my behalf. Is there anyone who will be my guarantor?
Put up now, give me surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?

“Establish, now, a pledge for me with Yourself; Who is there that will clap my hand in pledge?
Please lay down a pledge for me with yourself; who is he who will give security for my hand?
Will no one anywhere confirm my innocence? But you, O God, have kept them back from understanding this. Oh, do not let them triumph.
“O God, pledge your support for me. Give it to me in writing, with your signature. You’re the only one who can do it! These people are so useless! You know firsthand how stupid they can be. You wouldn’t let them have the last word, would you? Those who betray their own friends leave a legacy of abuse to their children.
“Now put down a pledge for me with Yourself. Who is he who will shake hands with me?
Please guarantee my bail yourself. Who else will guarantee it with a handshake?

“I call upon you to be a witness on my behalf, for there is no one else to whom I can turn.

Set my pledge beside you. Who else will put up security for me?
“God, please pay the price to have me set free. Who else would put up money for me?
“Give me, O God, the pledge you demand. Who else will put up security for me?
‘Give me, O God, the pledge you demand. Who else will put up security for me?
“Now put down a pledge for me with Yourself. Who is he who will shake hands with me?
“Promise that You will hear me. Who is there that will trust me?
“You must defend my innocence, O God, since no one else will stand up for me.
‘Lay down a pledge for me with yourself; who is there that will give surety for me?
‘Lay down a pledge for me with yourself; who is there that will give surety for me?
“Lay down a pledge for me with yourself; who is there that will give surety for me?

Show me a sign! Vouch for me, God! Who is there to give me his hand, guaranteeing his pledge?
“Now give a pledge. Be collateral for me with yourself. Who is there who will strike hands with me?
Lord, deliver thou me, and set me beside thee; and the hand of each man fight against me. (Lord, save thou me, and put me beside thee; then let someone try to fight against me!)
Place, I pray Thee, my pledge with Thee; Who is he that striketh hand with me?
