Woe be unto thee, O Moab! The people of Chemosh perisheth! For thy sons are taken captive and thy daughters captive.

“Woe (judgment is coming) to you, O Moab! The people of [the pagan god called] Chemosh have perished; For your sons have been taken away captive And your daughters into captivity.

Woe to you, Mo’av! K’mosh’s people are doomed! For your sons have been taken captive, and your daughters led into captivity.
People of Moab, you worshiped Chemosh, your god, but now you are done for, and your children are prisoners in a foreign country.
Woe to thee, Moab! The people of Chemosh is undone; for thy sons are taken away in captivity, and thy daughters are captives.
Woe to thee, Moab, thou hast perished, O people of Chamos: for thy sons, and thy daughters are taken captives.
It will be bad for you, Moab. Chemosh’s people are being destroyed. Your sons and daughters are being taken away as prisoners and captives.
It will be very bad for you, you people of Moab! The enemy will destroy you people who worship Chemosh. They will take away your sons and your daughters. They will take them as prisoners to a foreign land.
Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh are destroyed, for your sons are taken away captive, and your daughters go into exile.

Pity the people of Moab! The people who worshiped Chemosh have been destroyed, and their sons and daughters have been taken away as prisoners.

It will burn off Moab’s eyebrows, will scorch the skull of the braggarts. That’s all for you, Moab! You worshipers of Chemosh will be finished off! Your sons will be trucked off to prison camps; your daughters will be herded into exile. But yet there’s a day that’s coming when I’ll put things right in Moab. “For now, that’s the judgment on Moab.”
