“Moreover, the men of Memphis and Tahpanhes [as powerful enemies] Have shaved the crown of your head [to degrade you].
Moreover, the children of Memphis and Tahpanhes (Egypt) [have in times past shown their power as a foe; they] have broken and fed on the crown of your head [Israel]—so do not rely on them as an ally now.
Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head.

The children also of Memphis, and of Taphnes have deflowered thee, even to the crown of the head.
People from Memphis and Tahpanhes have smashed the top of your head.

And why do you think all this has happened? Isn’t it because you walked out on your God just as he was beginning to lead you in the right way?
