Then Jehovah said unto me, Out of the north evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
Then the Lord said to me, “Out of the north the evil [which the prophets foretold as the result of national sin] will reveal itself and spill out on all the people of the land.

The Lord said: I will pour out destruction all over the land.

The Lord said to me, “Something terrible will come from the north. It will happen to all the people who live in this country.
‘Yes, trouble like boiling water will come from the north. It will destroy all the people who live in this land.
Then the Lord said to me: Disaster will boil over from the north on everyone who lives in the land.
Then the Lord said to me, “Out of the north disaster shall be let loose upon all the inhabitants of the land.
Then the Lord said to me, “Out of the north disaster shall be let loose upon all the inhabitants of the land.
The Lord said to me, “Disaster will ·come [let loose; open up] from the north and strike all the people who live in this country [C the Babylonians would attack from the north].
Then said the Lord unto me, Out of the North shall a plague be spread upon all the inhabitants of the land.
Then the Lord said to me, “Disaster will be poured out from the north on all those who live in the land.
He said to me, “Destruction will boil over from the north on all who live in this land,
Then the Lord said to me, “Disaster will be poured out from the north on all who live in the land.
The Lord said to me, “Disaster will come from the north. It will happen to all the people who live in this country.

“Yes,” he said, “for terror from the north will boil out upon all the people of this land.
God’s Message came again: “So what do you see now?” I said, “I see a boiling pot, tipped down toward us.” Then God told me, “Disaster will pour out of the north on everyone living in this land. Watch for this: I’m calling all the kings out of the north.” God’s Decree. “They’ll come and set up headquarters facing Jerusalem’s gates, Facing all the city walls, facing all the villages of Judah. I’ll pronounce my judgment on the people of Judah for walking out on me—what a terrible thing to do!— And courting other gods with their offerings, worshiping as gods sticks they’d carved, stones they’d painted.
