For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.
For just as the [human] body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works [of obedience] is also dead.
For as the human body apart from the spirit is lifeless, so faith apart from [its] works of obedience is also dead.
For as the body without the Spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
As the lifeless body is dead, so faith without actions is dead.
Indeed, just as the body without a spirit is dead, so too faith without actions is dead.
Anyone who doesn't breathe is dead, and faith that doesn't do anything is just as dead!

A person’s body that does not have a spirit is dead. It is the same with faith—faith that does nothing is dead!
If our bodies have no spirit, they are dead. In the same way, if our faith does not lead us to do good things, it is dead.

Just as the body is dead when there is no spirit in it, so faith is dead if it is not the kind that results in good deeds.
The same with Rahab, the Jericho harlot. Wasn’t her action in hiding God’s spies and helping them escape—that seamless unity of believing and doing—what counted with God? The very moment you separate body and spirit, you end up with a corpse. Separate faith and works and you get the same thing: a corpse.
As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead.
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also · faith devoid of works is dead.
A body that doesn’t breathe is dead. In the same way faith that does nothing is dead.

Removing action from faith is like removing breath from a body. All you have left is a corpse.
For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.
A body is dead if it does not breathe. In the same way, believing is dead if it does not do anything good.
For as the body without spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
