“Look, I am causing the shadow that is on the steps of Ahaz to move back ten steps. The sun’s shadow will go back up the ten steps that it has already been on.”
You can see the sun's shadow when it falls on the stairs that King Ahaz built. The Lord will cause the shadow to go back ten steps on these stairs.’ Then the shadow did go back ten steps!

“‘And this is your confirming sign, confirming that I, God, will do exactly what I have promised. Watch for this: As the sun goes down and the shadow lengthens on the sundial of Ahaz, I’m going to reverse the shadow ten notches on the dial.’” And that’s what happened: The declining sun’s shadow reversed ten notches on the dial. * * *

“Behold, I will bring back the shadow of the sundial (by which it has gone down on the sundial of Ahaz, with the Sun) ten degrees backward.”’” So, the Sun reversed by ten degrees on the sundial of which it had gone down.

I shall make the shadow, cast by the sun, which went down on the stairway of Ahaz, to turn backward, or to go up, ten steps. And so the sun went back up ten steps on the stairway, on which it had just gone down.)
