Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly. And shalt thou be delivered?

Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all countries, destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?

You have heard what the kings of Assyria did to all the other countries. We destroyed them completely. Will you be saved? No!
You have heard how the kings of Assyria have completely destroyed all other countries. So do not think that your God will rescue you.

Just remember what has happened wherever the kings of Assyria have gone, for they have crushed everyone who has opposed them. Do you think you will be any different?
Just then the Assyrian king received an intelligence report on King Tirhakah of Ethiopia: “He is on his way to make war on you.” On hearing that, he sent messengers to Hezekiah with instructions to deliver this message: “Don’t let your God, on whom you so naively lean, deceive you, promising that Jerusalem won’t fall to the king of Assyria. Use your head! Look around at what the kings of Assyria have done all over the world—one country after another devastated! And do you think you’re going to get off? Have any of the gods of any of these countries ever stepped in and saved them, even one of these nations my predecessors destroyed—Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden who lived in Telassar? Look around. Do you see anything left of the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, the king of Hena, the king of Ivvah?”
Certainly you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by utterly destroying them. So shall you be delivered?
You heard what the kings of Assyria did to all countries, how they totally destroyed them. Will you be rescued?
You, certainly, have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the lands: they put them under the ban! And are you to be delivered?
Behold, you yourself have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the lands, destroying them completely. So will you be saved?

Certainly you have heard how the kings of Assyria have annihilated all lands. Do you really think you will be rescued?
I’m sure you have heard about what the kings of Assyria have done to all the other countries. They have destroyed them completely. So do you think you will be saved?
