Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble; your breath, as fire, shall devour you.
Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you.
“You have conceived dried grass, you will give birth to stubble; My breath is a fire that will consume you.
You conceive chaff, you bring forth stubble; your breath is a fire that consumes you.
Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.
You will conceive chaff; you will give birth to stubble. Your breath is fire that will consume you.
You will conceive chaff; you will give birth to stubble. Your breath is fire that will consume you.
You conceive straw, give birth to stubble; your breath is a fire that devours you.
You conceive chaff and give birth to stubble, your breath is a fire devouring you.
Your deeds are straw that will be set on fire by your very own breath.
Ye shall conceive dry grass, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath shall devour you [as] fire.
You shall conceive heat, you shall bring forth stubble: your breath as fire shall devour you.
You people have done useless things. These things are like hay and straw. They are worth nothing! Your breath will be like a fire and burn you.
My enemies, everything that you want to do will be useless. Your thoughts are like dry grass and straw. Your own breath will destroy you, like a fire that burns dry grass.
You will conceive chaff and give birth to stubble. Like fire, your own breath will consume you.
You conceive chaff; you give birth to stubble; your breath is a fire that will consume you.
You conceive chaff; you give birth to stubble; your breath is a fire that will consume you.
You people ·do useless things [produce nothing; L conceive chaff/straw] ·that are like hay and straw [L you give birth to straw/stubble]. ·A destructive wind [or Your breath] will ·burn [consume; devour] you like fire.
Ye shall conceive chaff, and bring forth stubble: the fire of your breath shall devour you.
You will be pregnant with hay. You will give birth to straw. Your breath will be a fire which will burn you up.
You make worthless plans and everything you do is useless. My spirit is like a fire that will destroy you.
You will conceive chaff; you will give birth to stubble. Your breath is fire that will consume you.
You people do useless things. These things are like hay and straw. A destructive wind will burn you like fire.

Pregnant with chaff, you produce straw babies; full of hot air, you self-destruct. You’re good for nothing but fertilizer and fuel. Earth to earth—and the sooner the better.

Assyria, your plans and actions are like straw. Your anger is a fire that will destroy you.

You bring life to what is of no worth. You give birth to what is of no use. My breath will destroy you like a fire.
