saying, “This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.”
saying, This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded to you-ward.
saying, “This is the blood of the covenant [that seals and ratifies the agreement] which God ordained and commanded [me to deliver to] you.”
Saying these words: This is the blood that seals and ratifies the agreement (the testament, the covenant) which God commanded [me to deliver to] you.
Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
saying, This is the blood of the covenant that God has ordained for you.
saying, This is the blood of the covenant that God has ordained for you.
While he did it, he said, This is the blood of the covenant that God established for you.
and he said, “This is the blood of the covenant which God has ordained for you.”
He told the people, “With this blood God makes his agreement with you.”
saying, This [is] the blood of the covenant which God has enjoined to you.
saying “This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded to you” [Ex 24:8].
Saying: This is the blood of the testament, which God hath enjoined unto you.
Then he said, “This is the blood that makes the agreement good—the agreement that God commanded you to follow.”
When Moses did this, he said to the people, ‘This blood shows that God's agreement with you has authority.’
He said, “This is the blood of the covenant that God established for you.”
saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.”
saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.”
He said, “This is the blood ·that begins [that seals/confirms; L of] the ·Agreement [Covenant; Contract] that God commanded you to ·obey [keep; Ex. 24:8].”
Saying, This is the blood of the Testament, which God hath appointed unto you.
He said, “Here is the blood that seals the promise God has made to you.”
He said, “This is the blood which seals the covenant that God has commanded you to obey.”
saying, This is the blood of the covenant that God has commanded for you.
He said, “This is the blood which begins the agreement that God commanded you to obey.”
saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God ordained for you.”
Christ is consequently the administrator of an entirely new agreement, having the power, by virtue of his death, to redeem transgressions committed under the first agreement: to enable those who obey God’s call to enjoy the promises of the eternal inheritance. For, as in the case of a will, the agreement is only valid after death. While the testator lives, a will has no legal power. And indeed we find that even the first agreement of God’s will was not put into force without the shedding of blood. For when Moses had told the people every command of the Law he took calves’ and goats’ blood with water and scarlet wool, and sprinkled both the book and all the people with a sprig of hyssop, saying: ‘This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you’.

Then he said, “This is the blood that marks the beginning of the agreement between you and God, the agreement God commanded me to make with you.”
Even the first plan required a death to set it in motion. After Moses had read out all the terms of the plan of the law—God’s “will”—he took the blood of sacrificed animals and, in a solemn ritual, sprinkled the document and the people who were its beneficiaries. And then he attested its validity with the words, “This is the blood of the covenant commanded by God.” He did the same thing with the place of worship and its furniture. Moses said to the people, “This is the blood of the covenant God has established with you.” Practically everything in a will hinges on a death. That’s why blood, the evidence of death, is used so much in our tradition, especially regarding forgiveness of sins.

Moses said, “This is the blood of the Way of Worship which God said you must obey.”
Then he said, “This blood confirms the covenant God has made with you.”
saying: This is the blood of the testament that God has appointed unto you.
saying, ‘This is the blood of the covenant that God has ordained for you.’
saying, ‘This is the blood of the covenant that God has ordained for you.’
saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God has ordained for you.”
