And they said unto Moses, “Speak thou with us and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.”

Then they said to Moses, “You speak to us and we will listen, but do not let God speak to us or we will die.”
And they said to Moses, You speak to us and we will listen, but let not God speak to us, lest we die.

“You speak to us, and we will listen,” they said to Moses, “but don’t let God speak to us, or we will die.”
‘You speak to us, and we will listen,’ they said to Moses, ‘but don’t let God speak to us, or we will die.’
They said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we’ll listen. But don’t let God speak to us, or we’ll die.”
(A: Maftir) Adonai said to Moshe, “Here is what you are to say to the people of Isra’el: ‘You yourselves have seen that I spoke with you from heaven.
and said to Moses, “If you speak to us, we will listen. But don't let God speak to us, or we will die!”
and said to Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
Saying to Moses: Speak thou to us, and we will hear: let not the Lord speak to us, lest we die.
Then the people said to Moses, “If you want to speak to us, then we will listen. But please don’t let God speak to us. If this happens, we will die.”
They said to Moses, ‘Speak to us yourself. We will listen to you. But do not let God speak to us. If he does, we will die.’
Then they said to Moses, “Speak with us yourself, and we will listen, but do not let God speak with us, or we will die.”
and said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, lest we die.”

“You speak to us, and we will listen,” they said to Moses, “but don’t let God speak to us, or we will die.”
Then they said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself. Then we will listen. But don’t let God speak to us, or we will die.”
They told Moses, “You speak to us and we will listen, but don’t let God speak with us, or we may die.
And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us lest we die.

All the people, experiencing the thunder and lightning, the trumpet blast and the smoking mountain, were afraid—they pulled back and stood at a distance. They said to Moses, “You speak to us and we’ll listen, but don’t have God speak to us or we’ll die.”
They said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen, but do not let God speak to us, lest we die.”
Then they said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we’ll listen. But don’t let Elohim speak to us, or we’ll die!”
and said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, or we shall die.”
Then they said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but do not have God speak to us, or we will die!”
Then they said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but let not God speak to us, or we will die.”

Israelites (to Moses): We are afraid to have God speak directly to us; we are certain that we will die. You speak to us instead; we promise to listen.
They said to Moses, “Speak with us yourself, and we will listen; but don’t let God speak with us, lest we die.”
and (they) said to Moses, Speak thou to us, and we shall hear; (but) the Lord speak not to us, lest peradventure we die.
and say unto Moses, `Speak thou with us, and we hear, and let not God speak with us, lest we die.'
