and throughout all the tribes of Isra’el there was dissension among all the people. They were saying, “The king delivered us from the power of our enemies, and he saved us from the power of the P’lishtim; but now he has fled the land to escape Avshalom.
everyone in Israel started arguing. They were saying to each other, “King David rescued us from the Philistines and from our other enemies. But then we chose Absalom to be our new leader, and David had to leave the country to get away. Absalom died in battle, so why hasn't something been done to bring David back?”
And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle; and now why are ye silent as to bringing the king back?
But Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in the battle: how long are you silent, and bring not back the king?
We anointed Absalom to be the king, but he was killed in battle. So we should bring David back to be the king again.”
We chose Absalom to be our king, but now he has died in the battle. We should surely go and bring David back to be our king again.’
But Absalom, whom we anointed over us, has died in battle. Now why are you silent about bringing back the king?”

And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle: therefore why are ye so slow to bring the king again?
However, Absalom, whom we anointed to rule us, has died in battle. Why is no one talking about bringing back the king?”
We anointed Absalom as our king, but he has been killed in battle. So why doesn't somebody try to bring King David back?”
But Absalom, the man we anointed over us, has died in battle. So why do you say nothing about restoring the king?”
We appointed Absalom to rule us, but now he has died in battle. We should make David the king again.”
“The very same Absalom we anointed to rule just died in battle…!” “Now then, why remain silent about bringing the king back…?”
And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now, therefore, why are ye silent regarding bringing the king back?

Now Absalom whom we anointed as king over us has died in the battle; so then, why are you taking no action to restore the king?”
So the king went out and sat at the city gates, and as the news spread throughout the city that he was there, everyone went to him. Meanwhile, there was much discussion and argument going on all across the nation: “Why aren’t we talking about bringing the king back?” was the great topic everywhere. “For he saved us from our enemies, the Philistines; and Absalom, whom we made our king instead, chased him out of the country, but now Absalom is dead. Let’s ask David to return and be our king again.”
Meanwhile, the whole populace was now complaining to its leaders, “Wasn’t it the king who saved us time and again from our enemies, and rescued us from the Philistines? And now he has had to flee the country on account of Absalom. And now this Absalom whom we made king is dead in battle. So what are you waiting for? Why don’t you bring the king back?”
But Absalom, whom we anointed over us, has died in battle. Now why are you idle to bring back the king?”
However, Absalom, whom we anointed to rule us, has died in battle. Why is no one talking about bringing back the king?”
but throughout the tribes of Israel all the people were arguing among themselves, saying to one another: “The king delivered us from the grasp of our enemies, and it was he who rescued us from the grasp of the Philistines. Now, he has fled the country before Absalom,

But Absalom, whom we anointed as our king, has died in battle. So now why do you hesitate to bring the king back?”
We anointed Absalom to rule over us. But he has died in battle. So why aren’t any of you talking about bringing the king back?”

And Avshalom, whom mashachnu (we anointed) over us, is dead in milchamah. Now therefore why are ye not speaking of bringing back HaMelech?

But Ab′salom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why do you say nothing about bringing the king back?”

All the people throughout all the tribes of Israel were at strife saying, “The king delivered us from the hand of our enemies and he saved us from the hand of the Philistines. Yet now he had to flee from the land because of Absalom,
Now Absalom, whom we appointed to lead us, has fallen in battle. Why, then, haven’t we moved to bring the king back to power?”
Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why don’t you speak a word of bringing the king back?”
Certainly Absalom, whom we anointed upon us, is dead in battle; how long be ye still, and bring not again the king? (how long shall ye be silent, and not bring back the king?) And the counsel of all Israel came to the king.
