The Patmos Vision

^9 (A)I, John, your ^(B)brother and ^(C)fellow participant in the tribulation and ^(D)kingdom and ^[a](E)perseverance in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos ^(F)because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

The Fifth Seal: Martyrs

⁹ When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw ^(A)underneath the ^(B)altar the ^(C)souls of those who had been killed ^(D)because of the word of God, and because of the ^(E)testimony which they had maintained;

¹⁷ So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to ^(A)make war with the rest of her ^[a](B)children, who ^(C)keep the commandments of God and ^(D)hold to the testimony of Jesus.

⁴ Then I saw ^(A)thrones, and ^(B)they sat on them, and ^(C)judgment was given to them. And I saw ^(D)the souls of those who had been beheaded because of ^[a]their ^(E)testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not ^(F)worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the ^(G)mark on their foreheads and on their hands; and they ^(H)came to life and ^(I)reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
