20 Veisuunjohtajalle; Daavidin virsi.
2 Kuulkoon Herra sinua hädän päivänä, varjelkoon sinua Jaakobin Jumalan nimi.
3 Hän lähettäköön sinulle avun pyhäköstä ja tukekoon sinua Siionista.
4 Muistakoon hän kaikki sinun uhrilahjasi, ja olkoon sinun polttouhrisi lihava hänen silmissään. Sela.
5 Hän antakoon sinulle, mitä sydämesi halajaa, ja täyttäköön kaikki sinun aivoituksesi.
6 Suotakoon meidän riemuita sinun voitostasi ja nostaa lippumme Jumalamme nimeen. Täyttäköön Herra kaikki sinun pyyntösi.
7 Nyt minä tiedän, että Herra auttaa voideltuansa, vastaa hänelle pyhästä taivaastansa, auttaa häntä oikean kätensä voimallisilla teoilla.
8 Toiset turvaavat vaunuihin, toiset hevosiin, mutta me tunnustamme Herran, Jumalamme, nimeä.
9 He vaipuvat maahan ja kaatuvat, mutta me nousemme ja pysymme pystyssä.
10 Herra, auta! Vastatkoon kuningas meille, kun huudamme.

For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;(A)
may the name of the God of Jacob(B) protect you.(C)
2 May he send you help(D) from the sanctuary(E)
and grant you support(F) from Zion.(G)
3 May he remember(H) all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.[b](I)
4 May he give you the desire of your heart(J)
and make all your plans succeed.(K)
5 May we shout for joy(L) over your victory
and lift up our banners(M) in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests.(N)
6 Now this I know:
The Lord gives victory to his anointed.(O)
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.(P)
7 Some trust in chariots(Q) and some in horses,(R)
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.(S)
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,(T)
but we rise up(U) and stand firm.(V)
9 Lord, give victory to the king!
Answer us(W) when we call!
