⁴ ‘This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says: “Behold, I am going to ^(A)turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you are making war against the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the wall; and I will ^(B)gather them into the middle of this city. ⁵ And I ^(C)Myself will make war against you with an ^(D)outstretched hand and a mighty arm, and in ^(E)anger, wrath, and great indignation.

²¹ “Son of man, I have ^(A)broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, behold, it has not been ^(B)bound up ^[a]for healing ^[b]or wrapped with a bandage, so that it may be strong to wield the sword. ²² Therefore this is what the Lord God says: ‘Behold, I am ^(C)against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and I will break his arms, both the strong and the ^(D)broken; and I will make the sword ^(E)fall from his hand. ²³ And I will ^(F)scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them among the lands. ²⁴ For I will ^(G)strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put ^(H)My sword in his hand; and I will break the arms of Pharaoh, so that he will groan before him with the groans of a wounded man.

⁵ On that day I will ^(A)break the bow of Israel in the ^(B)Valley of Jezreel.”
