8 Come, (A)behold the works of the Lord,
[a]Who has inflicted (B)horrific events on the earth.
9 He (C)makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He (D)breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He (E)burns the chariots with fire.
10 “[b]Stop striving and (F)know that I am God;
I will be (G)exalted among the [c]nations, I will be exalted on the earth.”

the desolations(B) he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars(C) cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow(D) and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields[a] with fire.(E)
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;(F)
I will be exalted(G) among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
