⁵ “When the camp sets out, Aaron and his sons shall go in and take down ^(A)the veil of the curtain, and cover the ^(B)ark of the testimony with it; ⁶ and they shall place a ^(C)covering of ^[a]fine leather on it, and spread over it a cloth of pure ^[b]violet, and insert its carrying poles.

¹⁵ When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy objects and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is to set out, after that the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them by the poles, so that they will not touch the holy objects ^(A)and die. These are the ^[a]things in the tent of meeting that the sons of Kohath are to carry.

^8 (A)At that time the Lord singled out the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord ^(B)to serve Him and to bless in His name, until this day.

²⁵ that Moses commanded the Levites ^(A)who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying, ²⁶ “Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, so that it may ^[a]remain there as a witness against you.

³ and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ^(A)ark of the covenant of the Lord your God with the Levitical priests carrying it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it.
