5 Then Moses commanded the sons of Israel in accordance with the [a]word of the Lord, saying, “The tribe of the sons of Joseph is right in its statements. 6 (A)This is [b]what the Lord has commanded regarding the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, ‘Let them marry [c]whomever they wish; only they must marry within the family of the tribe of their father.’ 7 So (B)no inheritance of the sons of Israel will [d]be transferred from tribe to tribe, for the sons of Israel shall each [e]retain possession of the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

5 Then at the Lord’s command Moses gave this order to the Israelites: “What the tribe of the descendants of Joseph is saying is right. 6 This is what the Lord commands for Zelophehad’s daughters: They may marry anyone they please as long as they marry within their father’s tribal clan. 7 No inheritance(A) in Israel is to pass from one tribe to another, for every Israelite shall keep the tribal inheritance of their ancestors.
