4 They are to join you and be responsible for the care of the tent of meeting—all the work at the tent—and no one else may come near where you are.(A)

28 For their office is [a]to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the house of the Lord, in the courtyards and in the chambers, and in the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God, 29 (A)and with the showbread, and (B)the fine flour for a grain offering, and unleavened wafers, or (C)what is baked in the pan or (D)what is well-mixed, and (E)all measures of volume and size. 30 They are to stand every morning to thank and to praise the Lord, and likewise at evening, 31 and to offer all burnt offerings to the Lord, (F)on the Sabbaths, the new moons and (G)the appointed festivals, in the number determined by the ordinance concerning them, continually before the Lord. 32 So (H)they are to perform the [b]duties of the tent of meeting, the holy place, and (I)of assisting the sons of Aaron their relatives, for the service of the house of the Lord.

28 The duty of the Levites was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the temple of the Lord: to be in charge of the courtyards, the side rooms, the purification(A) of all sacred things and the performance of other duties at the house of God. 29 They were in charge of the bread set out on the table,(B) the special flour for the grain offerings,(C) the thin loaves made without yeast, the baking and the mixing, and all measurements of quantity and size.(D) 30 They were also to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord. They were to do the same in the evening(E) 31 and whenever burnt offerings were presented to the Lord on the Sabbaths, at the New Moon(F) feasts and at the appointed festivals.(G) They were to serve before the Lord regularly in the proper number and in the way prescribed for them.
32 And so the Levites(H) carried out their responsibilities for the tent of meeting,(I) for the Holy Place and, under their relatives the descendants of Aaron, for the service of the temple of the Lord.(J)
