Jesus Chooses Some Followers

¹⁷From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Change your hearts and lives, because the kingdom of heaven is near.”

¹⁸As Jesus was walking by Lake Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (called Peter) and his brother Andrew. They were throwing a net into the lake because they were fishermen. ¹⁹Jesus said, “Come follow me, and I will make you fish for people.”

Jesus Calls His First Disciples^(B)

¹⁸As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee,^(C) he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter^(D) and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. ¹⁹“Come, follow me,”^(E) Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
