¹⁹ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a ^[a]heavy drinker, ^(A)a friend of tax collectors and ^[b]sinners!’ And yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

¹⁶ When ^(A)the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the ^[a]sinners and tax collectors, they said to His disciples, “^(B)Why is He eating with tax collectors and ^[b]sinners?”

^30 (A)The Pharisees and their scribes began grumbling to His disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and ^[a]sinners?”

² And both the Pharisees and the scribes began to complain, saying, “This man receives sinners and ^(A)eats with them.”
