41 These women had followed Jesus in Galilee and helped him. Many other women were also there who had come with Jesus to Jerusalem.
Jesus Is Buried
42 This was Preparation Day. (That means the day before the Sabbath day.) That evening, 43 Joseph from Arimathea was brave enough to go to Pilate and ask for Jesus’ body. Joseph, an important member of the Jewish council, was one of the people who was waiting for the kingdom of God to come.

41 In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there.(A)
The Burial of Jesus(B)
42 It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath).(C) So as evening approached, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council,(D) who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God,(E) went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.
