Malachi 2:7-9
New American Standard Bible
7 For the lips of a priest should maintain (A)knowledge, and people should (B)seek [a]instruction from his mouth; for he is the (C)messenger of the Lord of armies. 8 But as for you, you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to (D)stumble [b]by the instruction; you have (E)ruined the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of armies. 9 “So (F)I also have made you despised and of (G)low reputation [c]in the view of all the people, since you are not keeping My ways but are showing (H)partiality in the [d]instruction.”

7 “For the lips of a priest(A) ought to preserve knowledge, because he is the messenger(B) of the Lord Almighty and people seek instruction from his mouth.(C) 8 But you have turned from the way(D) and by your teaching have caused many to stumble;(E) you have violated the covenant(F) with Levi,”(G) says the Lord Almighty. 9 “So I have caused you to be despised(H) and humiliated(I) before all the people, because you have not followed my ways but have shown partiality(J) in matters of the law.”(K)
