Lamentations 2:16-18
New American Standard Bible
16 All (A)your enemies
Have opened their mouths wide against you;
They [a]hiss and (B)gnash their teeth.
They say, “We have (C)engulfed her!
This certainly is the (D)day which we awaited;
We have reached it, we have seen it!”
17 The Lord has (E)done what He determined;
He has accomplished His word
Which He commanded from days of old.
He has torn down (F)without sparing,
And He has helped the enemy to (G)rejoice over you;
He has (H)exalted the [b]might of your adversaries.
18 Their (I)heart cried out to the Lord:
“You (J)wall of the daughter of Zion,
Let your (K)tears stream down like a river day and night;
Give yourself no relief,
Let [c]your eyes have no rest.
