Lamentations 1:3-5
New American Standard Bible
3 (A)Judah has gone into exile out of affliction
And [a]harsh servitude;
She lives (B)among the nations,
But she has not found a resting place;
All those who (C)pursued her have overtaken her
In the midst of [b]distress.
4 The roads [c]of Zion are in mourning
Because (D)no one comes to an appointed feast.
All her gates are (E)deserted;
Her priests groan,
Her (F)virgins are worried,
And as for Zion herself, it is (G)bitter for her.
5 Her adversaries have become [d]her masters,
Her enemies are [e]secure;
For the Lord has [f](H)caused her grief
Because of the multitude of her wrongdoings;
Her little ones have gone away
As captives [g]led by the enemy.
